WE CARRY THE DETAILS

Know what to expect.

This is a reference to help you feel comfortable before departure. Devone handles the planning with you and explains the personal steps that need your own information or confirmation.

01

Once booked

Keep your confirmation accessible. Devone explains your arrangements, payment dates and next steps. Tell him promptly if a name, date or travel need has changed.

02

As sailing approaches

Dining, excursions and arrival plans begin to take shape. Devone helps coordinate the choices. Your booking and the app provide the relevant windows and required personal steps.

03

When it is time to go

Travel with your required documents and arrival details within reach. Follow the terminal arrival time for your booking, and contact Devone if a disruption affects the plan.

YOUR ONBOARD COMPANION

Get familiar with the app.

Before boarding

Find the Virgin Voyages app in your phone’s app store, and check that Virgin Voyages is the publisher. Sign in and connect your reservation, then follow the Ready to Sail instructions available for your voyage. Your personal check-in information needs to be accurate.

Check that everyone traveling knows how to access the booking. If the reservation does not appear or something looks wrong, bring it to Devone rather than creating a second booking.

Once on board

The app helps with the event schedule, dining, purchases and your onboard account. Follow the ship’s instructions to connect to its Wi-Fi. Internet access and use of onboard app functions are not the same thing.

Keep a copy of the essential travel details outside the app as well. A charged phone, accessible confirmation and known meeting point are useful even when technology is working well.

CARIBBEAN DAYS, YOUR WAY

Pack for the experience.

DAY

Light and comfortable

Tank tops, breathable shirts, shorts, swimsuits, a cover-up and comfortable shoes. Add a hat and the sun protection you normally use. Consider the walking or activity involved in your shore plans.

NIGHT

Whatever feels like you

A dinner look you enjoy, something red for Scarlet Night and pajamas if the PJ Party appeals. A light layer can be useful in air-conditioned spaces or a sea breeze.

WITH YOU

The things you need first

Required travel documents, medication, valuables, a phone charger and the essentials you want before your checked bag reaches the cabin. Keep them in your hand luggage.

The Caribbean wardrobe shown here fits warm-weather sailing. Alaska, cooler seasons and certain excursions need different clothing. Devone can help you prepare for the actual itinerary.

Can I go to dinner in swimwear?

Virgin encourages more than a bathing suit in restaurants and footwear inside. A cover-up or change of clothes makes it easy to move from the pool into a meal.

Are irons allowed?

Clothing irons are prohibited. A hair dryer is supplied in the cabin. Check Virgin’s current prohibited-items list before packing electrical appliances or anything unusual.

What about bringing wine or other drinks?

Virgin allows two 750 mL bottles of wine per cabin in carry-on luggage on embarkation day. Beer and spirits are not covered by that allowance. Other drink rules and any corkage charge should be checked in the current policy before you pack.

FROM HOME TO THE SHIP

Arrive with room to breathe.

Flights, hotels and transfers

Devone can arrange the journey around the sailing. Traveling to the departure city before embarkation day can provide a margin for delays. The right arrival plan depends on the route, distance and circumstances, so discuss it as part of the whole trip.

Terminal arrival time

The time selected in the app is your terminal arrival time. Follow the instructions for your port and reservation. It should not be confused with the ship’s departure time. Ports can use different terminals and procedures.

Documents and personal requirements

Travel-document and entry requirements depend on citizenship, itinerary and individual circumstances. Review the official requirements for your sailing with Devone, and obtain any required documents in time. Avoid relying on a rule from a friend’s different trip.

AFTER YOU STEP ABOARD

Settle in, then enjoy it.

01

The Band

Your wearable connects room access and onboard purchases. Treat it like a room key and payment method. Ask Sailor Services for help if it is missing or not working.

02

Your onboard account

Review charges and applied credits during the voyage. Raise discrepancies while the details are fresh. A Bar Tab balance and Sailor Loot are different, so check which credit covers a purchase.

03

Staying connected

Wi-Fi level depends on your fare and benefits. Review the available plan if you need particular online functions. Check your mobile provider’s roaming settings before departure to avoid unintended cellular use.

Follow the crew’s safety briefing and instructions. For immediate onboard assistance, use the ship’s team. Devone remains your advisor for travel questions and help coordinating with suppliers.

A PERSON TO TURN TO

If something changes.

My flight or transfer has been disrupted. What now?

Contact the transport provider for immediate operating information and let Devone know. Keep the updated arrival details available so he can help coordinate the next steps. Do not assume the ship’s departure will change.

I still have dining or excursion questions.

Send them to Devone. You do not need to research every restaurant or Shore Thing before asking for help. The dining guide and onboard guide are here if you want to explore.

Should I buy Bar Tab at the last minute?

We recommend arranging it at least 48 hours before sailing. Virgin’s published purchase cutoff is 24 hours before departure. Devone can review your existing benefits before you decide whether to add more.

About this guide

Named restaurants and ships use official Virgin Voyages imagery. Caribbean lifestyle scenes are custom illustrations by Beyond Travel. The guide draws on Virgin’s published dining, ship and sailing information. Menus, events and reservations can change. Your sailing’s current information applies.
